On the Court: Randy played tennis in high school and college before discovering volleyball. Learning quickly Randy joined the Athletes In Action Men’s Volleyball team and played as an outside hitter and as a setter. While learning the “new” sport of volleyball, Randy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California and a Masters of Science in Kinesiology from California State University at Fullerton.
Randy continued playing and coaching volleyball at Vanguard University and served as an assistant and head coach. He served as an assistant coach at Chapman University and at Orange Coast College. Randy spent time observing the men’s and women’s national teams and was greatly influenced by national team coaches Doug Beal, Bill Neville, Arie Selinger and Terry Liskevych, he also was active in observing and studying under coaches Dave Shoji, Marv Dunphy and Karch Kiraly. Randy has coached several international all-star teams, as well as serving as an age group coach for Laguna Beach Volleyball Club, Orange County Volleyball Club, and Viper Volleyball Club. Randy has co-coached with his wife, Leanna Bush at Rancho Christian and as an assistant coach at Temecula Valley High School (2014-2016). Randy brings an extensive knowledge of volleyball skills and game strategies to Viper and looks forward to working with our athletes.
Off the Court: Randy recently retired from the Riverside County Probation Department and enjoys fishing, hiking and camping.
