About

Lula was born and raised in Guatemala City. She attended Belga School.

Played for Guatemala’s youth, junior and adult Indoor National Teams from 1997-2006.  They won the Central America Championship where she was the team captain, led the tournament in kills.

Studied graphic designs in Rafael Landivar University in Guatemala and played indoor volleyball, winning for 3 years Inter UIAS in Mexico beach and named MVP of the tournament.

In 2006 Lula started playing beach volleyball for Guatemala’s Adult National Team on the Central America Championships in Belice and after winning this event, she decided to make the move from indoor to beach.

3 time Central American Champions 2006-2007 and 2010.

Qualified 3 Central American and Caribbean Games (Cartagena 2006, Mayaguez 2010, Veracruz 2014), Qualified to 2 PanAmerican Games (Rio 2007, Guadalajara 2011)

NORCECA Tour  2007 -2014. Silver Medal Guatemala 2012 and Bronze Medal Guatemala 2010.

In 2012 she moved to Puerto Rico and in July 2013, Lula married professional beach volleyball player from Puerto Rico, Roberto “Rafu” Rodriguez.
