At Viper we have worked hard to create what is one of the most complete club volleyball programs in the country. Our athletes have at their disposal quality practice facilities, caring, responsible and well-trained coaches, as well as high-level technical training and a strength and conditioning program designed and monitored weekly by professional staff.
The foundation of our volleyball program is a commitment to teaching. Sports provide kids with the opportunity to learn, grow and be challenged; and we feel it is our responsibility to take our influential role and methods seriously. We strive to be great learners ourselves and to always find ways to reach kids and to show them that learning is fun and creates opportunites for success.
Our goal is to create an environment which is positive, well rounded, and conducive to learning. We believe that a solid foundation and a balanced approach to sports and competition is what makes for healthy athletes, and people, at every age.
We hope to provide players of every calaber with an opportunity to play volleyball. In life and sports, "what you put in, is what you get out" and we try to teach our players how to create real results by having a great attitude, giving 100%, and being a team player.
If you are a player, coach, or parent who is looking for a volleyball program which places a high value on developing "complete" athletes, we would love to hear from you.
Founded in 1996, Viper Volleyball started with 13 players. We practiced wherever we could find space. Some of our initial practice sites included dance studios, classrooms (blackboard and all) and of course "The Pit" - a semi-indoor facility where temperatures ranged from 25 degrees in the winter to 112 degrees in the summer.
Due to the tremendous love of volleyball and overwhelming support from the local community, we were able to achieve continued growth since we began.
Our club has also found success over the years - demonstrated by winning the Volleyball Festival 4 times since 2000; a feat only duplicated by some of the oldest, most established and respected clubs in the country. In addition, we consistently place teams in the highest SCVA divisions in all age groups.
In 2005 we moved into our own facility, an 8-court facility, which includes a fully equipped weight room and incorporated speed and agility training for our athletes. We currently train more than 350 volleyball players and have been blessed with an amazing group of coaches and families who believe in and support what our program is about.
Our program is quite simply, not about winning at all costs. In fact, in 2005 we incorporated "Character Counts" as part of our training. We believe that it is our responsibility to teach athletes how to be responsible, productive young adults, not just outstanding volleyball players. It is incredibly rewarding to see these young players who we start training as young as 9 years of age, receiving recognition from some of the top collegiate volleyball programs in the country.
Competing against the best, while understanding and respecting that all teams and players are working towards the same goal, is how we win year in and year out.
