Boys Summer Camps

Boys Setter and Attacker Camp
Dates: July 6-8 (Tuesday-Thursday)
Times: 6-9pm
Cost:  $109
Ages: 14-18 (campers will be broken up by ability)

This year Viper is offering an opportunity for boys players to come out for first class training on setting and attacking.  Hitters and setters will be divided for individual training for part of the session and then come together for real time practice.  Learn the technical side of setting and hitting all sets and increase your set or shot selection with or without a block.  Training will include in system quick sets, out of system sets, and technical drills focused on the specifics of optimal hitting position.

Boys Blocking and Defense Camp
Dates: July 13-15 (Tuesday-Thursday)
Times: 6-9pm
Cost: $109
Ages: 14-18 (campers will be broken up by ability)

Blocking is HUGE in the men’s game. It is such an important skill to becoming a high level player. Learning how to see the court, read the setter and get yourself in the right spot and use the right technique is what this camp is all about. Ball control and being able to defend and dig behind the block is what makes a complete player. Learn how to read, position yourself correctly and make the right movement to the ball for an effective dig.

Boys Serving and Passing Camp
Dates: July 20-22 (Tuesday-Thursday)
Times: 6-9pm
Cost:  $109
Ages: 14-18 (campers will be broken up by ability)

Serving and passing are the most important skills in men’s volleyball. Serving tough is what keeps the other team from setting their big guys and passing great is what gets your team in system. We will focus on the fundamentals in this camp, as well as more advanced techniques to control the strength of the men’s game . We will be teaching all different kinds of serving techniques and how to pass differently for each one.

Registration Forms will be posted HERE by Friday, May 30, 2010

Viper Boys in Action at Area High Schools

Viper boys met at the Inland Empire Varsity Volleyball Tournament last Saturday, March 20 at Tahquitz High School in Hemet. Pictured from left to right are Edwin Vazquez and Cesar Padilla (Heritage H.S.), Danny Romero (Paloma Valley H.S.), Mika Koria (West Valley H.S.), and Juan Arambul and Edgar Tovar (Heritage H.S.).

The Viper boys played a great tournament, helping their school capture 4th Place (Heritage H.S.) and 1st Place (Paloma Valley H.S.) in the tournament. Congratulations!!!

We hope that events like these will spark an interest in boys volleyball, and that more Southwest Riverside schools will add Boys Volleyball to their athletic programs in the near future.
